The recent news of Prince William’s royal wedding being served for public consumption in the near future has already increase the clamor of more couple to tie the knot next  year. Weddings are certainly one of the events worth cherishing so wouldn’t it be better if you can capture the perfect photographs for the newly weds as their wedding present? They would surely appreciate it if you can help them save on the expense of hiring a wedding photographer who will capture precious moments into paper, but make sure you do provide them wonderful moments to remember and not disastrous photos worth burning to the ground.

First and foremost you should understand the quality photos are produced by high quality camera. If you will only use a low-end digital camera chances are it will not provide you your desired result. Remember, that the higher the mega-pixel ranges of your camera the better pictures it will produce. Try using digital cameras which has a minimum of four mega-pixels and this will definitely do the trick for you.

While taking shots on the event, always remember to turn off the sound of your camera so as not to distract any solemn activities like matrimonial vows, speeches and of course the newly weds kiss. Prepare not one, but at least two different cameras on that day which can capture several angles of the event. You may want to have a mixture of close-up solo pictures and group pictures included in their album and this will not work out right if you are only using a single camera.

Familiarize yourself with the special features of your camera and some basic techniques in photography. Consider the where the light will emanate from and the amount of light that the camera may absorb while capturing a particular moment. Do several photo experiments beforehand with the camera’s flash and light diffuser. Master handling its lenses and always consult a professional photographer for more tips and advises.

After considering the type of camera which you will use in the event, consider having a small chat with the soon-to-be newly wed couples. Exchange ideas among them and present them a list of shots which you plan to capture on the event. This may include the ring, the table settings, the wedding cake, the wedding dress, the bride’s shoes, the wedding invitation and of course the personalities who will bear witness to their vow. Incorporate their ideas into your shot list and please do remember all of these set of shots otherwise your preparation will be worthless.

Always remember that two heads are better than one and four hands are better than two. Expect that wedding gatherings would be a very stressful day and the festivity will be very dynamic. Consider asking assistance from a few friends who can act as your second photographer. They may focus on one particular aspect of the event while you remain concentrated on all the couples undertaking on the said event.
